Danbury Hosting Jai Ho Indian Festival Saturday

It's a cultural celebration featuring food, music and art — and it's free admission!

Indian culture will take center stage this Saturday during a festival on the Danbury Green.

The "Jai Ho India" festival takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. Admission is free to this family-friendly event that features food, music and art.

Cultural programs are set to take place between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and a Bollywood Concert will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and last till 10 p.m., according to the Indian Association of Western Connecticut, which is the event organizer.

The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 18 — same time. That shouldn't be needed, though, as the National Weather Service is forecasting sunny skies with a high near 81 for Danbury on Saturday.

The Danbury Green is located on Ives Street.
