Danbury Woman Shot, Killed in New Haven

New Haven Police said a Danbury nursing student was shot and killed in New Haven. The New Haven Police Department Spokesman Officer David Hartman released the following information.

New Haven Police reported a Danbury woman, Ashley Armstrong, 20, a nursing student and graduate of the Alternative Center for Excellence in Danbury, was shot and killed Wednesday. New Haven police said Armstrong was driving on Shelton Avenue in New Haven at about 12:47 a.m. with four women in the car. When police arrived, they said she had suffered wounds to her head and neck. No one else in the car was injured, police said. Armstrong was seated in the driver's seat of a Volkswagen, police said. The officers summoned EMS for help. An ambulance drove her to the Hospital of St. Raphael's, where despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased at 12:37 a.m. A crime scene was found in front of 84 Shelton Avenue. Danbury Police Log: Shooting, Violation of Probation, Burglary

The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Danbury Police were called to the area of Main Street at Danbury Commons Monday at about 7:40 p.m. on word there had been a shooting. Police said they found two men sitting in a car. "They didn't know if they were the suspects or the victims," said Police Spokesman Thomas Wendel, so police asked the men to step out of the car. They discovered one of the men had been shot in the lower leg. The man was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Danbury police said the men were not cooperating with the police and the incident is under investigation. In a separate incident, Danbury Police charged Almiro DeOliveira, Dean Road, Brookfield, with two counts of violating probation at about 10:30 p.m. Monday. DeOliveira was held on a $2,000 bond…

Fire Destroys Comcast Dumpster

The Danbury Fire Department extinguished a dumpster fire Danbury at Comcast Cable on Shelter Rock Road. This video was shot and edited by Dave King, a musician in the Danbury area who manages public access television programing for Comcast.

A dumpster fire destroyed the dumpster and kept Danbury Fire Department firefighters busy Monday on Shelter Rock Road.

Danbury Police Log: DUI, Assault, Strangulation, ICE Detainer

The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Danbury Police charged Wevrton DaSilva, 26, Weil Avenue, Danbury, with operating a motor vehicle without a license, reckless driving and he was held on an ICE detainer following a driving incident in Danbury at 6:44 p.m. Sunday. In a separate incident, Johnny R. Delong, 44, of Greenwood Ave., Bethel, was charged with failure to drive right, operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a motor vehicle while under the influrence of drugs or alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an accident at 5:18 p.m. Friday. Affidavit: New Canaan Suspect Sold 18-Karat Gold Chain Hours after Danbury Homicide

The town man that police in Danbury believe may have killed 43-year-old Mario Imbesi in March sold the jewelry to a Stamford-based business the same day the victim's body was discovered, according to a search warrant affidavit from state Superior Court.

The New Canaan resident being investigated by Danbury police as a suspect in the homicide of a 43-year-old man in March sold an 18-karat gold link chain to a Stamford-based jeweler and attempted to sell additional items the day the victim's body was discovered, according to a search warrant affidavit from state Superior Court in Danbury. Based on information police collected from cellphone records, the man, who has not formally been charged, made numerous calls to pawn shops and other businesses that purchase gold on March 16 — the day Mario Imbesi was found dead in his Danbury apartment. Fear, Shock for Wilton Following Ramsey Patricide

Shock and disbelief were just some of the responses from residents when they heard news of the father-son killing.

"My Husband Is in a Pool of Blood": Ramsey 911 Call [UPDATE]

“Someone was murdered ... My husband is in a pool of blood,” a woman identified by police as the wife of Edward Ramsey said in a 911 recording released Friday by Wilton police.

  The 22-year-old Connecticut man who police say confessed to killing his father has been arraigned in state Superior Court in Stamford and held on $1 million bond.
