King St United Church of Christ

Flag as Inappropriate

In the 1830s, there was only one church in the rural community of King Street, so a local group of eight like-minded yet diverse people decided to start their own church. More than a century later, this church continues to be a very diverse yet theologically Christian congregation that embraces people from all walks of life.

The lovely classic Connecticut church has a beautiful labyrinth garden and ancient headstones, and is somewhat stark in its appointments, remaining true to its Puritan roots. The church is very service oriented and is involved with the local soup kitchen, Women's Walk Against Violence and the Special Olympics. Also, this location hosts a thrift shop downstairs for public use.
