Hayestown Elementary School
Hayestown Avenue Elementary School offers parents a wide range of get-involved activities to help with their child's education, including four "Family Reading Nights" at the school where parents and children go to the school for reading activities. In addition to that, parents are asked to spend 20 minutes a night reading to and with their children. The school has achieved 100 percent participation in parent/teacher conferences. Hayestown also offers the Book Swap Shelf, where students can swap 4th through 6th grade chapter books for free. Before classes started Hayestown hosted "Meet your Classmates," a kindergarten gathering for new students, parents, teachers and the PTO on the playground.
