The Danbury Police Department is made up of about 150 officers divided into four divisions: patrol, investigations, administration and professional standards. Patrol is the department's eyes and ears, because in each shift patrol officers drive throughout Danbury. Investigations covers crimes against children through the Youth Bureau, the Detective Bureau for other investigations and Special Investigations for drug investigations. The Administration covers records, information technology, court officers, business functions and private duty. The Professional Standards division covers internal affairs, training and accreditation.
