The Danbury Museum & Historical Society was established in 1947 to preserve Danbury's history. The museum preserves the John and Mary Rider House (c. 1785), the Dodd Hat Shop (c. 1790), the Marian Anderson Studio, and the Charles Ives birthplace. Huntington Hall is where the museum offices, research library and gift shop are located. The society hosts many different events and tours throughout the year. Check the website for current information. Free parking is available in the lot behind the buildings.
