Danbury Municipal Airport started in 1927 when two Danbury business owners bought 60 acres of land for an airport. Today, the 248-acre site sits about three miles west of Main Street on land next to the Danbury Fair Mall and Wooster School. The airport has an FAA tower, and it received a $350,000 grant of federal stimulus money in 2009 to study obstructions to the flight path into the airport. More than a dozen businesses lease property at the airport.
