Museum Collections, Beekeepers, Adopt A Cat, and A Nature Class All This Weekend

Visit the Danbury Museum and Historical Society, 43 Main St., at 10 a.m. Saturday for the Showcasing of a vast array of interesting objects gathered by Greater
Danbury residents. Join us as we share the stories and histories related to the hobby & art of collecting during this fun & informative community exhibit!

Set on six beautiful acres in West Redding, CT, Westbrook Nature 
School offers a nature-based curriculum on a property featuring trails, 
streams, meadows, an organic garden and natural playscapes. At 9 a.m. Friday, Westbrook's Parent Child Class, for parents and children ages birth to three years old, includes outdoor play and nature walks, bread baking, crafts, a 
circle time filled with seasonal songs, stories and puppet shows. 
Parents have an opportunity for social time together, a much needed and 
precious commodity for mothers and fathers of young children.  An 
organic, homemade snack is served.

The Connecticut Beekeepers Association, founded in 1891, and possibly the oldest state beekeeping organization in North America, will hold its annual all day beekeeping school for beginner beekeepers on January 18, 2014, at the Woodbury Senior Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click on the link for details.

Animals In Distress is a no-kill Cat Shelter located at 238 Danbury Road (behind Wilton Town Hall). We are open on Saturdays 1:00pm - 4:00pm or during the week by appointment.
