Matrix Holiday Party, Driving Refresher, Holiday Bazaar, Resume Help, All in Danbury This Week

The Danbury Museum and Historical Society is hosting its annual its 6th Annual Holiday Bazaar and Crafts Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Museum, 43 Main St., Danbury. For more information, click here. 

The Danbury Public Library and the Automobile Association of America is offering a driving refresher course Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. that may save people money. Take the AAA Driver Improvement Program to relearn the basics of defensive driving and learn current driving practices. According to state law, Connecticut drivers who complete the class and are 60 years old and older are eligible to receive a 5% discount on their auto insurance. For information, click here.

The Danbury Public Library and the state Department of Labor is hosting a Networking session at Danbury Public Library from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to help people looking for work talk to others in the hunt, hear about job openings, listen to guest speakers and learn interviewing tips. The Matrix is hosting its annual little/BIG Holiday Party from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Matrix Conference and Banquet Center, 39 Old Ridgebury Road in Danbury. The event features an open bar, cocktail reception, holiday buffet, grand holiday dessert selection and a DJ and dancing. For pricing and details, click here. 

Danbury's Project Homeless Connect takes place starting at 9 a.m. Friday with volunteers offering referrals, guidance, information and services to people who are homeless or in need. The day-long event in its seventh year takes place at the Bill Williams Gymnasium, Osborne Street, at Western Connecticut State University. The annual event is co-sponsored by the Greater Danbury Continum of Care and the Danbury Housing Partnership with the help of numerous other service organizations and people. The Danbury Public Library and the state Department of Labor is offering a workshop on Resume Basics from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday downstairs at the library. This beginner's workshop is designed for people who may not have a resume, but want to get started by including what must be included and leaving out what can be left out.
