Here are Four Things You Must (Might) Do This Week in Danbury

Here are a few things worth doing for the week ahead.

The Danbury Museum and Historic Society is hosting a Gold Sale Fundraiser, sponsored by Liberty Gold, to benefit the museum and historical society and other local nonprofits on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday at the same times. Bring in your unwanted gold, silver, platinum items. You walk away with the full value from the sale of your items and Liberty Gold donates a portion of each sale to the museum and historic society.

The Danbury Public Library is offering a small business workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Show Me The Money. Finding capital for your small business is not impossible. Get pointers from the SBA that will help get your business going and moving toward financial stability. Topics discussed will be traditional (SBA's guaranteed loan program) and non-traditional (SBA's micro-loan program) ways of financing.

The Danbury City Council's Ad Hoc Committee looking into the finances of the Community Action Committee of Danbury is continuing its work at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. This controversial situation involves questions the City Council has about how Danbury's anti-poverty agency spends and accounts for its money.

The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut is offering parents a night out without the kids. Leave the kids with us for three hours of friends and fun while you enjoy your night out. There will be pizza, gym games, swim time, and a craft. Bring a bathing suit and a pair of PJ's to change into. The night out is Friday and it starts at 6:30 p.m.
