It's finally here!

Election Day 2012 has arrived!

By Michael Ferguson

After months of build-up the 2012 election has finally arrived!  Or as some would say it is finally almost going to be over!  The constant negative attack ads, the mail that seems to not stop piling up, and the annoying phone calls will almost soon go away.  However, despite many probably looking forward to the election being over, we cannot forget to vote in what may be the most important election in several decades.

For those in Connecticut, we not only have the chance to vote for president, but we have several competitive races all the way down the ballot.  And that is what makes this election so important!  Your vote can make the difference in who our next senator or congressman may be.  There are also several races for local office for those trying to become your state senator or state representative.  In these races, your vote may prove to be very crucial.

Polls are open in our state from 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM and there is no reason why any registered voter should not go cast a ballot.  It is our civic duty to vote in order to show who we want to lead our country and state.

As Americans we are lucky to live in a nation where we have the chance to elect our leaders and express our opinions. This is something other nations only dream of.  Now, it is your chance to go out and make your voice heard.  It is time for you to show the world what America is all about!
