Learn how to contribute to the Dalai Lama's mission.

By: Tanya Brenton

As you learn more about His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, you may want to know how to get involved in his mission of promoting peace, compassion, and education.

In 2009, the 14th Dalai Lama founded the Dalai Lama Trust. This nonprofit charitable organization is dedicated to supporting those who work for the well-being of Tibetans, the advancement of their ancient heritage, and the promotion of their core values.

The contributions to this foundation also promote education, a dialogue between science and religion, and the preservation of the environment. The Dalai Lama's belief in non-violence is also stressed as it is important for individual growth and for social change. Lastly, the funding is used to provide relief and assistance to communities in need.

This foundation relies on contributions by the founder and the public.
