The Dalai Lama is coming. Why should you go?

       The fact the Dalai Lama is coming to WCSU is a very special opportunity for students and residents of Danbury. Although he has visited many schools including the college of William and Mary and Syracuse University, WCSU will be the first in Connecticut.

            Learning from a man that is known worldwide for his awareness of peace and compassion would be very beneficial. It is not everyday that you come across someone so passionate for life, and the joys that life can bring. There are many people in this world that can use a break away from their hectic schedules.

            It is important that we know about the different conflicts that have aroused in the world today, but it is necessary that we stay focused on being positive. It is crucial to take advantage of this opportunity, and although he has been to so many places around the world, in only a few days he will be right here in Danbury!

       Tickets range form $20-$200 and are on sale now at the box office located on both the Midtown and Westside campuses of WCSU. If you are not able to purchase a tickets don’t worry there is still a way. There will be a live video simulcast free to the public in the Ives concert hall. The Ives concert hall is located at the Midtown campus at 181 White Street. There is no ticket required to be able to view this showing, but first come first serve!

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will speak on Oct. 18 and 19 at Western Connecticut State University. To help promote this opportunity, WCSU students in the Writing, Linguistics and Creative Process Department's Advertising, Copywriting and Promotions class created a Twitter page. and they are writing this blog daily.
