Reaching more than 2,000 disciples from over 61 countries, His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave a four-day series of teachings starting October 1.
Being hosted at Tsug-la Khang, a large temple close to his home in Dharamshala, India, his focus will continue to be on Atisha’s Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment. Many disciples have drawn parallels between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the main character of these teachings. Atisha was a "prince, Buddhist monk, traveller, scholar, [and] great meditator" according to the Lam Rim Tibetan Buddhist Radio Association.
Uniting a multitude of nationalities under one common ceiling of belief, these four days of focused teachings help to illuminate the very foundation of the Dalai Lama's collective goals. Compassion, unity, and love will not only be discussed, but observed by all attendees.
Available in Chinese, English, and Russian languages, webcasts of all four days will be available through His Holiness the Dalai Lama's website.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will speak on Oct. 18 and 19 at Western Connecticut State University, and the public is invited to a free showing (video simulcast) in the Ives Concert Hall, 181 White St. To help promote this opportunity, WCSU students in the Writing, Linguistics and Creative Process Department's Advertising, Copywriting and Promotions class created a Twitter page. and they are writing this blog daily.
