Were You Thinking of Going Away this July 4th Weekend? DON'T GO...

July 4 and more summer entertainment at the Ives Concert Park in Danbury.

Take my advice...Postpone the trip. Don't fill up your gas tank, don't wake up at 4am to beat the traffic, don't pack your bags, don't stop the mail delivery and newspaper, PLEASE JUST STAY HOME....you'll thank me.

What will you do?....that's easy....Sleep in, play with your dog like you really mean it (they know the differnce), enjoy a BBQ with family and friends, go for a walk with someone you love (it could be the dog), dust off your beach chairs, and plan on making the Ives Concert Park part of your holiday week entertainment plans.

The festivities start early in the week, and there is a show or two for everyone in the Family. If you love reggae, jazz, and folky funk, start chilling with MICHAEL FRANTI & SPEARHEAD on Monday, June 27th. Their opening act will be the sultry GRACE POTTER & THE NOCTURNALS at 7pm.

Rest for a few days, take long lunch breaks from work and start planning your Friday night, as on July 1st, Grammy Award Winner PETER FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE at the Ives with his 35th Anniversary Tour.

Saturday the hits keep coming with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers....EARTH WIND AND FIRE...So bring your Shining Star and welcome them back to Danbury, July 2nd at 8pm.

Wow, this is a long weekend you are probably thinking...what am I going to do on Sunday. Pack up the beach chairs and drive to the Ives on Sunday July 3rd, as at 730pm, the lovefest will begin when GLEE'S  MATTHEW MORRISON ( the teacher Will Schuester on the hit TV show) performs, and the opening act will be a local GLEE CLUB that wins the battle of the GLEE CLUBS! See our FACEBOOK page for details how to enter.

Finally....it is Monday, July 4th. Rest....Celebrate...and be Thankful for our Independence and Freedom and all that is Great about America.

For all shows the Concert Park opens an hour before show time. Parking is FREE. You can bring food, although there is great food available from Cookhouse and other vendors on site.
