J GEILS AND BEACH BOYS AT THE IVES THIS WEEKEND

     Attention Rock Fans…The Summer Fun continues at the Ives Concert Park.  A big concert weekend is coming up with the J Geils Band and the Beach Boys coming to town this week.

     The 2011 Union Savings Bank Summer Concert Series is over halfway through, and crowds have been averaging 4000 fans a show, and this weekend brings a great opportunity to stay local and enjoy two great nights out.

     THE J GEILS BAND will be arriving in Danbury to play the Ives Concert Park on Saturday, August 13th, 2011.  Their hits include: Freeze Frame, Centerfold and Love Stinks. The Band was a finalist nominee for the 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

     Their opening act will be CHRIS ROBINSON’S BROTHERHOOD.  Robinson was the former front-man of the BLACK CROWES.

     On Sunday, the Beach Boys come back to Danbury, to recreate their famous Ives Concert Park Beach Party. This is a great family show and a fun Summer Night under the stars with beach balls flying in the crowd, and fans dancing to all their classic hits.  The Beach Boys song list is one of the most familiar and enjoyable: Good Vibrations, Sloop John B, Kokomo, In My Room, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Fun Fun Fun, Don't Worry Baby, Barbara Ann, California Girls, 409, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Help Me, Ronda, and God Only Knows.

Tickets will also be for sale at the Gate the night of the concert.

Parking is free at the Ives Concert Park. The earlier you come the better the parking spot. Check www.ivesconcertpark.com to see when gates open for each show. You are allowed to bring food, or come empty handed and hungry as there are great food vendors on site. NO Beverages are allowed into the park, they are sold on site only. General Admission tickets should bring beach chairs or a blanket. Reserved seating has chairs in place. The Park takes debit and credit cards for beverage purchases, but some vendors only take cash such as the food and t-shirts.
