Icecats Outskate Green Wave 3-1 for 10th Win

BBD hockey improves to 10-5-1 over rival New Milford.

The Brookfield-Bethel-Danbury (BBD) Icecats got off to a fast start when senior captain Scott Martin scored an unassisted goal on his first shift and the 'Cats never slowed down, hustling their way to a 3-1 victory over SWC rival New Milford Wednesday at the Danbury Ice Arena.

After the Wave tied it up 1-1 to end the first period and a scoreless second, Steve Almieda lit the lamp early in the third with what proved to be the winner, assisted by Martin and Jordan Warren. Trevor Kurjiaka backhanded an insurance goal assisted by Warren and Jon Leonard.

The veteran BBD defense, led by seniors Martin, Matt Hallock, Billy Hunt, Jacob Maddox, junior Kevin Keiser and senior goale Luis Dibble (21 saves) stiffled New Milford's comeback attempts as the Icecats improved their record to 10-5-1.
