Wooster Drama Department Presents 'Into The Woods'

Tony Award-winning musical hits the Black Box Theater.

"Be careful what you wish for."  That's the message behind the Tony Award-winning musical, Into the Woods, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. In this modern re-telling of our favorite fairy tales, characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, the Witch, and many others learn that "Happily Ever After" might not be so happy after all.

This musical, suitable for all ages, will be presented in the Black Box Theater by the Drama Dept., 91 Miry Brook Road, Danbury, on Friday, March 2, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 3, at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

Make reservations by calling Anne Gilson at 203-730-6705 or emailing her at Anne.Gilson@woosterschool.org. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.

Wooster School has a rich tradition in place, when it comes to widely-known and well-received productions. With three shows a year, an Upper School drama, an Upper School musical, and a Middle School play or musical, our "gem of a theater," the Wean Performing Arts Studio, a black box theater, is a bustling place said Beau Gravitte, teacher, actor, writer and director. In the last few years, Wooster actors have performed Curtains, The Foreigner, Company, The Best Man, House and Garden, Carnival, Metamorphus,  Laramie Project, and Arcadia. The Middle School has performed Little Mary Sunshine, Bits and Pieces, The Tempest, How to Eat Like a Child, and Alice in Wonderland.
