Stadley Rough Silent Auction Underway

The auction to raise money for the PTO runs until 3 with entertainment from now until 4 p.m.

The Stadley Rough Elementary School PTO is hosting its annual silent auction this afternoon until 4 p.m. People are bidding on anything from dinners out to lottery tickets, I Pad 2's, and jewelry.

Last year the PTO bought with the silent auction earnings 15 remote control devices that allow teachers using lap top computers to improve their classroom presentations, said Patty Alessandro, a member of the PTO. The PTO also bought $1,200 worth of books. Pretty much every year the PTO uses the money to sponsor assemblies, field trips and to sponor students for the annual Nature's Classroom trip to Cape Cod.

"We do program for kids that the budget doesn't cover," said Victoria Ceylan, a PTO member and parent of a 9-year-old.
