State Police say drive VERY slowly. This is the kind of storm designed to create videos of cars driving sideways down a small hill. Make sure your car is prepared for storm driving, then stay home, police said.

Danbury Schools are closed. The official phone call didn't arrive on Driftwood Point until 6:34 a.m., which is late for Danbury. The phone usually rings about 5 a.m.

Connecticut State Police say they have accidents reported on all major highways. They urge people to drive slowly. Liet. Paul Vance said this is the kind of storm that causes cars to slide sideways. Be prepared and don't drive.

Freezing rain will follow the sleet you are now experiencing. That will cause trees to fall down, power outages and ice on top of the snow. Three inches have fallen in Danbury this morning.
