High School Interim Principal Chosen

Gary Bocaccio to serve two years as interim principal.

Assistant Principal Gary Bocaccio has been selected to be the interim principal at Danbury High School for the next two years.

According to Superintendent Sal Pascarella, Ed. D., the reasons for selecting Bocaccio were based on several factors. The two year appointment would create some stability. He praised Bocaccoi's leadership abilities, and Bocaccio is due to retire in two years. An assistant principal would be hired to replace his current position, and Meghan Martins will be able to maintain her position as Associate Principal.

Deputy Superintendent Bill Glass, Ed.D, said that many new initiatives had been put into place by Bob Rossi, who resigned as principal of DHS a week ago, and those initiatives need time to mature. Having Bocaccio, who knows the school culture and is well respected by the staff, as interim prinicipal will be a benefit to the school.  Glass said that Bocaccio “will hit the ground running.”
