NVCC Closing at 12:30 p.m., DMV Cancels Driver Tests Wednesday

Word came that Naugatuck Valley Community College is closing for the day at 12:30 p.m. The state Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling driving tests until Thursday afternoon.

Naugatuck Valley Community College is closing for the day at 12:30 p.m. because of the weather, according to Allison Egan, in public relations at the college.

Here is the wording of the notice, "Due to projected inclement weather conditions, Naugatuck Valley Community College will be closed at 12:30 p.m.  All classes held after 12:30 p.m. today are cancelled. All non-essential employees are subject to early dismissal today, February 29, 2012."

In a second weather-related announcement, the state Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling any driver tests scheduled from 11:30 a.m. on because of the storm. Testing will resume Thursdday after 1 p.m. For information, call 860-263-5700 or 800-842-8222.
