 Important School Board Meeting

Deputy Superintendent of School Bill Glass, Ed.D. wrote, “In the short time that Dr. Rossi provided leadership at the high school, some excellent progress was made. A new Freshman Academy was established. Open enrollment in Advanced Placement courses was initiated which more than doubled the number of students taking our most challenging courses and the high school was recognized by the College Board for excellence. The Student Advisory Program became far more stabilized which helped students with personal and educational issues. Perhaps the most significant change that occurred was the de-tracking of the academic program. This was required by the Connecticut State Department of Education via a new mandate. One of the most difficult initiatives to accomplish is the de-tracking of a high school and this was achieved this year.

We will be meeting this coming Wednesday (next week) to develop a plan of action with the Board of Education.”

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. July 27, at 63 Beaverbrook Road.
