Free Concert Invitation

The Danbury Music Centre invites you to a free concert.

The Danbury Music Centre invites you to attend a free concert featuring the Danbury Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. January 29, in Ives Concert Hall. Ives Concert Hall is located in White Hall, on the mid town campus of Western Connecticut State University, on the corner of Fifth Avenue and White Street.

Ariel Rudiakov, Music Director and Conductor of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, will conduct this concert which includes The Thrill of the Orchestra by Russell Peck. It will be narrated by Nutcracker Artistic Director, Arthur Fredric. Also on the program is Haydn’s Toy Symphony. Youngsters in the audience may be invited on stage to help the orchestra perform this piece.

The winner of the annual Danbury Symphony Orchestra Student Concerto Competition, violinist Anastasia Dolak, will take center stage to perform a movement from Symphonie Espagnole by Lalo. This piece will be familiar to moviegoers who have seen Lord of the Rings. Anastasia is a senior at New Fairfield High School.

This one-hour concert is free to the public with major funding from Dr. Steven and Ambi Moore and Family. It is suitable for children of all ages.
