Five Tech Gadgets for the 2012 School Year

Parents are spending more and more on technology when shopping for back-to-school items, and here's just a sampling of what's on the market.

Clothing makes up most of the spending, but electronics are becoming increasingly popular in back-to-school shopping. Parents surveyed say they will spend $217.88 on electronics this year and six in 10 parents say they will invest in an electronic device. Last year, only 51.9 percent made that claim.
