DHS Freshman Find Hard Work Really Pays Off

Thirty 9th grade students win awards of $50 for their hard work at Danbury High School.

Monday morning at DHS, thirty students received Perry Awards for their academic achievment. George W. Perry worked on the railroad for many years and left much of it in a trust fund for Danbury High School students who excelled, or performed to the best of their ability, in their studies. The students who won the Perry Awards were given checks $50.

VIP Awards were also given to the top contributors of their Freshman Academy teams and fifty awards were given for perfect attendance. Those awards consisted of DHS string backpacks filled with unique and different items.

In the past, awards have been given out in evening presentations. This is the first year the awards were given out during the day.
