Danbury Calls Off School Monday (Did You Hear the Celebration?)

No school in Danbury Monday, and the kids are cheering.

First comes the Tweets telling students who follow MayorMark no school Monday.

"Attention: Rydell High School is on a 2 hour delay tomorrow," Mayor Mark Tweeted @MayorMark at about 5:42 p.m.

That was followed by, "Attention, Attention: Ridgemont High School is on a two hour delay as well," MayorMark a few minutes later.

Meanwhile students are sending him notes, "What about DHS?" and Mike DeCosta asked him, "school of hogwarts open tomorrow? Please no please no...."

Finally at 6:43 p.m., "Danbury Public Schools are closed tomorrow. Seriously." The explanation is many staff members are coming from towns with roads unplowed.

What you're supposed to hear next is the Robocall sending out the official word.

What you really hear is the chatter on Twitter.

"So Fired Up Gonna Fight a Bull," Tweeted Ryan Ansel.

"BLASTING We are Family, and Burning Down the Hallways of my House No School Celebration," by Meg Pane.

Maddi Mucci sent out "No School = Blasting Build Me Up Buttercup on the way home to get AMPED."

No, I don't understand a word of it, but the sentiment appears to favor Not having school.

In the old days, we'd have heard we didn't have school Monday moring on the radio or heard Dr. Mel tell us during the weather.
