UPDATE: Dalai Lama Tickets Available (SOLD OUT)

A handful of Dalai Lama tickets are now available at Western Connecticut State University.

Dalai Lama tickets priced $20 to $200 are now available, but the number is limited and these are the last tickets to see him live at Western Connecticut State University on Oct. 18 and 19.

UPDATE: THESE TICKETS SOLD OUT WITHIN 24 HOURS ON OR ABOUT OCT. 2 AND OCT. 3.

This handful of tickets was held back by the university and they were offered to freshman and transfer students. Those are the students who did not have a chance to buy them when the visit was first announced.

"We wanted to make sure any new students who wanted to see the Dalai Lama could do so," said University Spokesman Paul Steinmetz.

Betsy McDonough, presidential assistant, said in an email students had an exclusive chance to buy the tickets until Sept. 28. After that, the tickets were offered to the public.

The tickets are available at the office in the Student Center on the Westside Campus. Tickets are $20 to $200.

The university is also offering people a chance to watch and see the Dalai Lama through a video simulcast that will be broadcast into the Ives Concert Hall, 181 White St. on the Midtown Campus.

Students in the university's Writing, Linguistics and Creative Process department are blogging about the Dalai Lama's visit and they created a Twitter Page to promote it.
