Broadview Eighth Grader Tops Spelling Bee

Rahul Malayappan of Danbury won the spelling bee for the fifth consecutive year.

We knew Rahul Malayappan of excelled at math, because he was , and now we know he excels at spelling, too.

The Danbury News-Times reported that for the fifth year in a row, the Broadview eighth-grader won the Hearst Media Services Regional Spelling Bee at Western Connecticut State University.

As he winner, Rahul will compete in May in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC.
