"No offense, but the dominant factor affecting our climate is a star just shy of 100 million miles away" G, Of course the Sun has a strong influence over climate. That said, scientists have been watching the sun very closely and accurately since the 1970's, and during the last 35 years of global warming solar output has dropped slightly. The Sun and climate have been going in opposite directions. LIterally dozens of studies have have concluded that the Sun simply cannot account for the recent global warming. Some of those studies are : Hubert and Knutti (2011) Erlykin (2009) Benestad (2009) and Lockwood (2008). "Anthropomorphic affects on climate are very difficult to fully ascertain. " Not really. Basic Physics is enough to understand what is happening. We have known of the "greenhouse effect" of CO2 and other gases for over 100 years. We know that the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere are rising. We know that Man's activities (burning fossil fuel, etc) produce more than enough CO2 to account for that rise.

Henry it seems this study set you straight. Am I right?

The scientific evidence for AGW must stand or falls on its own merit, regardless of popularity. That said, I think the evidence for AGW is strong.

Henry once again does this study pass the smell test? http://www.pnas.org/content/107/27/12107.full.pdf+html
