16 Lowest Tax Bills in Connecticut

Counting down the lowest median tax bills in the state.

We've looked at the highest and lowest mill rates in the state, as well as the highest median tax bills (mill rates applied to median home values) for better context. This week we wrap up the series with the lowest median taxes in Connecticut.

The list shows the 16 towns with the least taxes paid by an average homeowner this year, calculated by applying the mill rate to the median home value for each town, as reported by Zillow.

(As pointed out by a reader last week, tax bills are calculated using assessed value, or 70 percent of appraisal. The order is unchanged but this week we've used assessed value for a more accurate look at tax bills.)
