A Danbury High School student was killed in a car crash after finishing a basketball game with three friends at Western Connecticut State University Sunday night.

The car was heading down University Boulevard when it either hit the center divider or the driver lost control of the car and it hit the divider. The car then jumped the divider, crossing the two lanes of on-coming traffic and hit a rock.

Police said the driver and only person in that car was Christopher Anthony Reyes, 17, of Staples Street, Danbury, a Danbury High School student. Police said Reyes died as a result of his injuries in the accident. Reyes was thrown from the car after it hit the rock.
