Troopers: Two Drove Drunk on Interstate in Southeast

The New York State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate any convictions.

[Updated, 10 a.m. on April 11] Over the weekend, officials from the  and East Fishkill barracks charged the following individuals, pending future court appearances:

  • Danbury, CT resident Patrick A. Simmons, 29, around 4:10 a.m. Sunday on I-84 in Southeast. Trooper George Pearce, Jr. made the arrest. The defendant, who was operating a 2006 Lincoln, faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, as well as two traffic infractions. Police say he refused to submit to alcohol screening. Simmons was released, pending an April 17 appearance in Southeast Justice Court.
  • Danbury, CT resident Eudimar Pereira, 32, around 2:50 a.m. Saturday on I-84 in Southeast. Trooper Michael Bayer made the arrest. The defendant, who was operating a 2000 Volkswagon, faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. Police say his blood-alcohol content was 0.11. Pereira was released pending an April 19 appearance in Southeast Justice Court.
