State Police Tag 35 Drivers as DUI on the Fourth of July

State Police Spokesman Lt. Paul Vance reported the Connecticut State Police charged 35 people with driving under the influence between midnight and 9 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
During the same time, state police issued 1,276 speeding tickets, and charged 257 people with driving without a seat belt. Police said they investigated 190 motor vehicle accidents with 27 injuries. 
Lt. Vance reported no fatal accidents on July 4. 

Last year State Police reported 323 accidents, 45 DUI arrests, and 1,059 speeding tickets on the Fourth of July.
