Robbery, Assault on New Street

Danbury Police charged two people with assault and robbery after a fight on New Street Thursday.

Danbury Police were called to New Street Thursday at 11:45 p.m. for a robbery, and they found the person complaining, Alexis Sandoval, 19, of Danbury. Sandoval said he was walking on New Street when  Melissa Myers, 41, Danbury, and another unknown female approached him. They asked him if he had money, and he told them no. They put their hands in his pocket and took an undisclosed amount of money from him. Myers then put a small knife against his throat and cut his throat and hands and they fled. Police found Myers and saw she was also injured. Myers said Sandoval solicited sex from the other unknown female. The unknown female stole his money and fled from Williams Street. Myers claims Sandoval assaulted her with fists and a Vodka bottle because he was angry that the other unknown female stole his money. Both had injuries consistent with their statements. Sandoval was charged with second-degree assault, and patronizing a prostitute. Myers was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree robbery. Both were held on $5,000 bonds.
