Putnam County Sheriff Log: Danbury Man Charged Selling Narcotics

The following information was provided by the Putnam County Sheriff via Southeast Brewster Patch. A person charged with a crime is not guilty until having been convicted in court.

Officials have charged a 23-year-old Danbury resident in connection with the alleged trafficking of prescription medication in Putnam County.

According to a  report released Monday, in November of 2011, an undercover deputy learned that the defendant, Ziedan A. Faied, of Morris Street, Danbury, was selling Roxicodone pills—which are often used as painkillers—at various spots in Kent and Southeast.

During the course of the investigation, police say, undercover officials bought the medication from Faied three times.

Authorities charged the defendant Thursday, when he reportedly appeared at a Town of Kent court session for an unrelated narcotics posession charge. He faces the following felonies: third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Faied was arraigned before Kent Town Justice Peter Collins. He was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility, but was released after posting $2,500 bail. He will be due in court at a later date.
