Police: Man With Drugs Led Officers on Car Chase

After downtown chase, man found with 99 grams of marijuana.

A man allegedly in possession of nearly 100 grams of pot led police on a chase through downtown Danbury this weekend.

Nicholas Figueroa, 23, of New Milford, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving on July 26 at approximately 8:45 p.m.

According to police, officers attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop when they observed Figueroa speeding in the area of Interstate 84 West near exit 6 in Danbury. Figueroa attempted to flee from police, running traffic lights and narrowly driving through traffic on North Street, before being stopped on Hayestown Road.

During a subsequent investigation police discovered 99 grams of marijuana, $3,330, a digital scale and several plastic bags.

Figueroa was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on August 12.
