Narcotics and Criminally Negligent Homicide

A man Danbury police charged with narcotics offenses in August 2013, has been charged in Bethel with selling the heroin that killed a man in May 2013.

Bethel Police charged Vandy Heard, 38, with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell and criminally negligent homicide. Heard is currently in the Bridgeport Correctional Center. Heard's bond on the Bethel charges was set at $50,000 and he was not released from custody, according to the state Judicial Department.

In Danbury, Heard was charged on August 17, 2013, with six felony drug charges including possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, public housing project or day care center. Heard pleaded not guilty to these charges.
