UPDATE: Man Shot Saturday in Danbury Near Sleepy Hollow and Irving Place

Danbury Police are investigating the shooting of a man Saturday night at about 8:30 p.m. near corner of Sleepy Hollow and Irving Place.

Danbury Police are investigating the shooting of a man shot near the intersection of Irving Place and Sleepy Hollow Drive at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

On Saturday night, Shift Commander Shaun McColgan said the and the evidence technicians are on the way to the scene, and the victim, a man, is being treated at Danbury Hospital.

"There was a shooting. A man was shot in the hand," McColgan said. "We have very little at this point. It happened near the intersection of Sleepy Hollow and Irving Place."

The UPDATE is police said Monday the man was a light-skinned Hispanic male, who was treated and released from Danbury Hospital. "The victim told responding officers that someone tried to rob him and than shot him in the hand," the Monday update said.

Those streets are tucked into a corner that abuts I-84 in Danbury near Highland Park.

McColgan said the police are actively looking for suspects in the area, but the victim isn't cooperating fully with the police.

McColgan said he thinks the man was outside when he was shot in the hand. He said someone called it in at 8:38 p.m. The wound did not appear to be life threatening.
