Local Man Charged in Danbury Robbery

Police in New York recognized man's vehicle as the getaway car in recent robbery.

An area man arrested in New York earlier this week has been charged with several counts of robbery in Danbury.

According to police, Maxwell Mulligan, 39, of Ridgefield, was charged by Danbury Police with five counts of second-degree robbery on July 31.

Mulligan was first arrested in Nyack, NY on July 26 after officers stopped a 2002 Mercury Sable he was driving which matched the description of a getaway vehicle used in a recent Danbury robbery. He was taken into custody as a fugitive of justice and also charged with possession of a controlled substance, allegedly heroin and prescription pills, and possession of a hypodermic needle, according to police.

Mulligan is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
