Jewelry Store Burgled

Danbury Police reported that a Federal Road jewelry store was broken into early Monday morning, and the display cases were smashed open.

The Danbury Detective Bureau is investigating a burglary that took place at about 12:20 a.m. Monday at 59 Federal Road.

Police Spokesman and Capt. Thomas Wendel said the burglary alarm sounded at about 12:20 a.m., and numerous display cases were broken open. Wendel said an estimated $50,000 worth of jewelry was taken.

The incident is under investigation.
