FCI Danbury Inmate Pleads Guilty to Assault with Ballpoint Shiv

Sixty-two-year-old woman faces additional 10 years and $250,000 fine for assault.

A prisoner at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Danbury, pleaded "guilty" Wednesday before a Bridgeport judge to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon on another inmate at the prison.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on Nov. 25, 2012, 62-year-old Yvonne Davis assaulted another FCI Danbury inmate with a ballpoint pen that had been broken so as to have a sharp edge on it.

The victim suffered a laceration 5 to 6 inches long and half an inch deep to the back of her arm. The wound required 24 stitches to close.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 6, 2013, at which time Davis faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000.

Davis is currently serving a 37-month sentence after having been convicted in the Northern District of Texas of possessing a firearm while a felon.
