Danbury Police charged a man with the November shooting outside the Elks Club that left a woman with a leg wound.

Danbury Police charged Damian Winters, 20, Concord Street, with first-degree assault and second-degree assault with a firearm Friday for the November 17 shooting of a 32-year-old woman at the Elks Club, 120 West St. Police said Winters was held on a $500,000 bond for court Monday. The victim was shot in the leg.

According to the November 19 shooting story, the victim told police she heard an argument in the club and after she stepped outside, someone shot her in the thigh. She said she thought it was a Hispanic male. Police said she wasn't cooperative. Police found two casings at the scene, but people in the club said they didn't see anything.
