Danbury Police: Shoplifting with Children

Danbury man charged with shoplifting using two juveniles as helpers. The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Danbury Police were called to Walmart on Newtown Road at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday on a call of shoplifting. Police charged Pedro Arevalo, 53, of Clark Street, Danbury, was charged with sixth degree larceny and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Police said Arevalo was using a 10-year-old girl to conceal clothes on her person. Arevalo was held on a $5,000 bond for court Wednesday.
