Danbury Police: Sexual Assault, Violating a Protective Order, DUI

Jill Hancock, 50, Osborne Street, Danbury, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and interfering with a police officer. Police said Hancock came to an accident scene at Hospital Avenue and Osborne Street, where she caused trouble by blocking a police cruiser and then driving through the accident scene against the direction of police. She was then pulled over and found to be driving under the influence. Hancock was released on a $5,000 bond for an appearance scheduled in Danbury Superior Court for Oct. 31.

In an unrelated case, Danbury Police charged William Batista, 27, Clark Street, Danbury, with fourth-degree sexual assault at 9 a.m. Sunday. Batista was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Nov. 1.

In an unrelated case, Danbury Police charged Victor Valdiviezo, 33, Beaver Brook Road, Danbury, with violating a protective order. Valdiviezo was held on a $5,000 bond for an arraignment scheduled for Monday in Danbury Superior Court.
