Danbury Police: Risk of Injury, Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Danbury police charged Victor Sousa, 37, Cross Street, with three counts of risk on injury to a minor, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault Sunday at about 3:15 a.m.

Police said the incident followed an evening of drinking in a bar, and when the couple returned home, they weren't talking to each other. Police said after the couple put their three children to bed, Sousa threw his wife out of the house. He went looking for her about 15 minutes later, leaving the the children, 5, 8 and 11, home alone. Police said he struck his wife in the car after finding her on the street and driving her home. She called police and when they arrived home, the police arrived at about the same time. Police said they removed a shotgun from the home, and Sousa was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Danbury Superior Court.

This information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
