Danbury Police: Possession with Intent to Sell

The Danbury Police Department's Special Investigation Division started watching for illegal drug-related activity in the area of the Lower Lake Kohanza reservoir near Kohanza Street and Dogwood Drive. Police did this in response to numerous citizen complaints of ongoing suspected drug related activity in the area. On the afternoon of June 24, police saw activity that looked like a drug sale.

These observations, combined with a follow up investigation, led to charges against Brian Guyton, 18, of Danbury, for possession of a controlled substance, less than a half-ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school.

Guyton was held for arraignment on a $5,000 bond. The Danbury Police Department Special Investigations Division is committed to addressing such quality of life issues and will continue to maintain a presence in this and other problem areas throughout the City of Danbury.

This information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
