Danbury Police: Narcotics on Spring Street

Danbury police charge one man and one juvenile during a narcotics purchase on Spring Street Tuesday.

Members of the Community Conditions Unit were conducting surveillance in the area of Spring Street Tuesday, when they saw a drug deal taking place. The officers saw Eric Espinal, 21, of Danbury, conduct a drug transaction with another man later identified as a 17-year-old juvenile. When the officers approached the pair, both ran. Espinal was charged with interfering with an officer, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession within 1,500 feet of housing project. The juvenile man was charged with interfering with an officer, possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Espinal was held on $10,000 bond and the juvenile was given a summons to appear in court.
