Danbury Police Nab Armed Robber

Danbury Police caught a man jumping fences behind Maple Avenue early Saturday morning, and charged him with climbing into a woman's car as she got home, pointing a gun at her and leaving with her phone, car keys and purse.

Danbury Police charged Angel Abreu, 18, Eden Drive, with first-degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon, criminal possession of a weapon, interfering with a police officer, and breach of peace. Police said at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, a woman pulled into her Osborne Street driveway, and at that moment a man jumped into the passenger seat and pointed a gun at her. He took her cell phone, purse and car keys before fleeing. Police said the woman went to her neighbor's house and called police. Police set up a perimeter and caught a man meeting the gunman's description jumping fences behind houses Maple Avenue.
