Danbury Police Log: Sexual Assault, Risk of Injury to a Minor
The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is not guilty until having been convicted in court.
Elmer Granados, 45, of Franklin Street, was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault and 10 counts of risk of injury to a minor Tuesday. Police held Granados on a $275,000 bond. Police said the victim, a 15-year-old girl, went to her pastor to report the crimes. Granados was under a restraining order from visiting the victim's home, but he visited that home on March 28. Police were waiting. When police served Granados with the warrant on Tuesday charging him with violating a court-ordered protective order, they also served him with the warrant charging him with the sexual assault charges. Granados will be arraigned Wednesday in Danbury Superior Court.
